Beginning July 1, 2023. This position’s purpose is to advise the Commissioners on emerging regional issues, including the development of markets, resource adequacy, and reliability, and their effect on Wyoming, utilities, and ratepayers in the state. This could include conducting research, preparing reports, and formulating strategies for Wyoming, utilizing expert-level mathematics, modeling, and statistics connected.
This position will participate in regional electricity issues through committees on various regional organizations, representing Wyoming interests, providing written comments on regional proposals and testimony in state and federal cases, analysis of policy and transmission issues, and participate in regional negotiations.
This position disseminates information to Commissioners under their direction. The regional policy analyst/economist will work cooperatively with other agencies, state commissions, and regional organizations; consult with and take direction from Commissioners on research, participation, and strategies related to Wyoming interests in regional forums, organizations, and issues.
Knowledge of mathematical, economic, and statistical theory.
Knowledge of agency rules, and state and federal electricity statutes, and general knowledge of energy policy.
